I was wondering of the gift I should be gifting my son on his upcoming 11th Birthday. I wanted to gift him something different this time than the regular stuffs. After contemplating on the various options I thought of gifting him a smart watch, as it is a new product and is becoming a trend to wear.
When I shared my thought of the gift, to my son; he quickly instead to gift him a “Boat Smartwatch”. I had other brands in my mind which were recommended by my friends, but my son was adamant on buying boat brand.
In the past during lockdown, I had bought few products of Boat like speakers and earphones for myself and headphones for kids to attend online classes. I was wondering why my son is insisting on having Boat Smartwatch while the company is known for audio products.
I learned that my kid was aware about the recent launch of boat smartwatch, its features, and the celebrity endorsing the brand.
The conclusion of this incident is that the company has been able to create a strong brand association in the minds of not only the customers but also the consumers. Using multiple means to interact with customers and endorsements popular celebrities is effective in branding.
